Seeking abroad - meet new people from anywhere
I am going to visit China this winter. I know that I will visit Beiijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, but I would also like to visit more remote areas around those cities. Can someone please advise me on relatively easy to get to locations around those big cities? I'm limited on time, so it can't be an all day trip.|
I am looking for mystical landscape - the real China.
Please help if you can. I am open to all suggestions and advice. Also, if you could let me know which cities out of the three that I've mentioned needs the longest stay, please let me know why and how long you would suggest in each.
hi, some time ago i has the same trip to china - beijing-xi'an-hong kong. and i was studiyng at shanghai for one month.
at first, i think, it will be good to be in beijing for 3-4 days, shanghai - 4-5 days and hongkong - 2-4 days.
beijing isn't big city, just look historical zones. shanghai is a very beautiful and wonderful city, it's city of future (in my country says). ther is some cities near the shanghai: hangzhou and fuzhou. there are very similar cultural cities. my chinese friend show me wonderful place -
it's name zhujiajiao, it's small chinese fish town, strange and beautiful place. i like it so much.
and hong kong. there are two parts of city: kowloon and hong kong (business city). so, in kowloon you must see the laser show from the bay, spase museum and night (after 11 p.m.) market on the streets of city. so, there are disney land and big budda.
so, have a very gooood time in china!
Wow you have visual aids and everything! The fishing village you mentioned sounds wonderful! I think I will try visiting there. Thank you for the suggestions in some of the other cities as well. Thank you! Any other suggestions of some small, mystical towns near any of these cities?
i read about mysterious cities and find some from kowloon (hong kong) area. look here: http://goroda-prizraki.narod.ru/koulun.html
but this information in russian, my language, so, i think, you can found the same in english. it's just history of kowloon, today there is a big park on that place.
yes, fishing village near shanghai is wonderful place, go there. and taste some fish and meat like this:
look some my photos from zhujiajiao:
and go to the zoo. ask someone about panda zoo in shanghai, it's very interesting to see this sweet bears so near.^^ and don't forget to get the tea-ceremony in beijing or shnghai, it's so imprtant to get a good member of china. don't be afraid of chinese young people, they are very open to people from other countries. often they invite tourists to the tea-ceremony, but you must to know that you pay for yourself.^^ see museums, see everything you can see. china is wonderful country.
did you know chinese? why did you choose this country?
(so sory for my poor and bad english, i'm not good at it)
Great suggestions! I love this idea of the tea ceremony you mentioned! I will definitely want to go to that. I am going to China because I have always wanted to go to Asia, and I have a three week vacation from work. So I wanted to get the most out of it. Thank you so much for all of your pictures and suggestions. You're English is very good! I do not know Russian at all . . . only French and English for me (I studied French for almost 20 years.)
maybe next time you'll visit my country (Ukraine)?^^ next spring, for example?^^ (next summer i'm going to usa.
have a good vacation! and get new friends, asian friends.
Shanghai I'm kinda meh (bad mojo happens to me when I go there) on so I'd say you could do it in a day or two but you'd probably need three or four. I'd check out Suzhou and Hangzhou as day trips while you're in Shanghai.
HK - One day for shopping island side, one Kowloon side. One day for Disneyland. One day for Ocean park. A couple of days doing the touristy thing. Maybe one day to go to Macau and check out the casinos.
